we just finished up our P3 - Passion series. i learned a few things about myself in message preparation and i learned a lot about the students of this community.

we all say “we love the Lord”, BUT how often do we say “i desire to be in love with the Lord more and more everyday” and then live it out with our every thought, word and action. you see we get so entangled in our worlds, our daily lives, the busy everyday tasks that we choose those things over Him. but Paul teaches us (the church) as he spoke to “God’s holy people in Philippi who belong to Christ Jesus” in chapter 3:7-11 “7 I once thought these things were valuable, but now I consider them worthless because of what Christ has done. 8 Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have discarded everything else, counting it all as garbage, so that I could gain Christ 9 and become one with him. I no longer count on my own righteousness through obeying the law; rather, I become righteous through faith in Christ.[a] For God’s way of making us right with himself depends on faith. 10 I want to know Christ and experience the mighty power that raised him from the dead. I want to suffer with him, sharing in his death, 11 so that one way or another I will experience the resurrection from the dead!”

notice he is speaking to believers. he is NOT speaking to non-believers or seekers or the nonchurched people. i ask myself, have i “discarded everything else” or BLUNTLY, have i discarded all of the stuff that i cling to (MY future, MY plans, MY retirement, MY securities) in order to be more in love with Him and seek His will and TRUST it? PLEASE notice i capitalized MY. that’s the biggest problem we have is that we believe our lives revolve around US. so i ask you the same? what is MOST important in your life? your stuff or your passion for the Lord, your Creator (the one who gave you life) who passionately seeks to be in loving relations with you?

there are a lot of people in this generation who are sincerely asking themselves these questions. they are sincerely seeking, what TRULY are their priorities. they are asking tough and honest questions of themselves. they want to know what it means to TRULY depend on the Lord in their lives. i pray that we all ask ourselves the same questions.

more to come….
